Home Hero 11-piece with sharpener review
Eleven pieces in named 3Cr13 stainless with a two-stage sharpener in the box — the only set in this hub that ships with something to keep its own edges.
What we would actually buy The sharpener is the right inclusion and the wrong type — carbide takes real steel. On 3Cr13 that matters less than it would on a good blade.
What you are getting
Eleven pieces in 3Cr13 stainless, including a 20 cm (7.9 in) chef’s knife, with a two-stage sharpener in the box.
The named steel
3Cr13, which is a soft stainless. That is exactly what it sounds like: quick to sharpen, quick to dull, and rust-resistant. For a first set that will be sharpened often and replaced eventually, it is a reasonable choice honestly stated.
The sharpener
A two-stage carbide pull-through. It removes a lot of metal, which shortens a blade’s life — and on soft 3Cr13 knives at this price, restoring the edge in seconds is worth more than preserving the blade for twenty years.
What eleven pieces means
Read the contents list. Sets of this size include the sharpener, guards and sometimes a peeler in the count.

The questions that come in
What is 3Cr13?
A soft Chinese stainless grade, roughly comparable to 420-series steel. It sharpens very easily, resists rust, and does not hold an edge for long. It is honest at this price.
Should I use the included sharpener?
On these knives, yes — they are soft and cheap, and a carbide sharpener brings them back in seconds. Do not use it on a good Japanese blade.
Our score
7.5/ 10
The sharpener is the right inclusion and the wrong type — carbide takes real steel. On 3Cr13 that matters less than it would on a good blade.
