WMF Touch 2-piece review
Two knives — a utility and a chef’s knife — each with a blade guard, in coated special blade steel. The smallest and cheapest set in this hub, and the only one where every knife arrives protected.
What we would actually buy Two knives, both guarded, at the price of one. The coating is cosmetic on an edge that gets sharpened.
What you are getting
Two knives — a utility knife and a chef’s knife — in rustproof, acid-resistant special blade steel with a nonstick coating, each with its own blade guard.
The guards
Both knives arrive with one. That is what makes drawer storage viable, and it is what most sets at any price leave out.
The coating
It reduces food sticking to the flat of the blade and helps resist staining. At the cutting edge it disappears with the first sharpening, which is normal and worth knowing.
What is still missing from the kitchen
A serrated bread knife. This pair covers chopping and small work; nothing here cuts a crusty loaf without crushing it.
Availability
On sale at around $33 on the American Amazon store at the time of checking.
Prices and availability are what Keepa reported on the date this page was updated; both move.

What we rate, and what we do not
Strengths
Blade guards for both knives, which is what makes a drawer viable
Two knives you will actually use rather than five you will not
Coated blades release food slightly and resist staining
Compromises
A coating on a blade wears at the edge with sharpening
No hardness figure
Two knives is not a kitchen — a bread knife is still needed

The questions that come in
What does a nonstick coating do on a knife?
It reduces food clinging to the flat of the blade and resists staining. It does not survive sharpening at the edge, where it is worn away in the first pass.
Is a two-knife set enough?
Almost. A chef’s knife and a small knife cover most work; a serrated bread knife is the third that nothing else replaces.
