ALUWERK 28 cm titanium-reinforced ceramic review

The heaviest and dearest pan in this hub, sold on its construction rather than its coating: a massive body that the maker states spreads heat right to the rim, and a solid stainless handle that stays hand-warm.

The bottom line The one pan here whose maker argues from construction. It would be a stronger argument still with a base thickness printed next to it.

What you are getting

A 28 cm pan with a titanium-reinforced ceramic surface over a deliberately heavy cast body. ALUWERK’s own listing leads on stability and even heating rather than on the coating, which is the honest order — a coating wears out and a base does not.

The handle

Solid stainless with a hanging loop, described as staying hand-warm through frying. It is the part that separates this pan from the Bakelite-handled pans below it in the hub, and it is what would make it oven-capable if the maker stated a limit.

The claim that is testable

“Even heat to the rim” is exactly what mass buys, and it is the property that a thin pan cannot have at any price. It is also the property that would be settled by publishing a base thickness in millimetres, which the listing does not.

Whether it is worth the gap

Against the entry pan here it is more than twice the price. What that buys is the body and the handle. The ceramic surface will still wear, as every coating does.

What we like, and what we don't

Strengths

  • Sold on body construction rather than on a coating name, which is the right argument
  • Solid stainless handle rather than Bakelite — it stays cooler and it does not age
  • Heavy enough that the maker makes the rim-to-rim heat claim, which lighter pans cannot

Compromises

  • The dearest pan in this hub by a clear margin
  • No base thickness or weight published, despite mass being the selling point
  • No stated oven limit, which a stainless-handled pan would usually advertise

Questions people actually ask

Is the stainless handle oven safe?

The listing does not publish an oven limit. A solid stainless handle is the construction that usually allows one, so the absence of a figure is a gap in the listing rather than an obvious no.

What does titanium reinforcement do to a ceramic coating?

The maker states it gives a high natural release and needs less oil. Titanium particles are commonly added to increase hardness; the coating still ages, as every coating does.
