Blackmoor

PFAS-free ceramic, and hand wash only

Two coated pans, and one instruction that runs through them.

The 28 cm pan

Ceramic nonstick with a stated PFAS-free surface, induction compatible, hand wash only. Both halves of that matter: the PFAS statement is the material claim, and the hand-wash instruction is what the coating needs to survive.

The milk pan

16 cm on a 3 mm cast aluminium base with a stone-effect nonstick, a pouring rim and a cool-touch handle. Three millimetres of base is what stops milk catching, which is the entire job of a milk pan.

Why hand wash only is not a small print detail

A dishwasher’s detergent is abrasive and alkaline, and it shortens the life of a ceramic coating measurably. A pan sold as hand wash only and washed in a machine is a pan that stops being nonstick early.

The one to look at first

The milk pan, for the published base thickness.

  • Blackmoor Home 28 cm ceramic

28 cm · ceramic nonstick · PFAS-free surface stated · induction · hand wash only

The cheapest pan in this hub and the one with the clearest instructions: Blackmoor states a ceramic, PFAS-free cooking surface and an aluminium body, and states plainly that the pan is neither dishwasher nor oven safe.

Best for: A first pan, a student kitchen, or a spare that will be replaced without regret.
