Silit

Crominox, measuring marks and a folding steamer

Five products, all in the pot-and-pan half of the catalog.

What it publishes that others do not

The 16 cm (6.3 in) saucepan has interior measuring marks and a wide pouring rim, both stated. The steamer insert states that it folds from 14 to 23.5 cm (5.5 to 9.3 in), stands 10 cm (3.9 in) high on 2.5 cm (1 in) feet, and fits pressure cookers. That is four numbers for a component most makers describe in a sentence.

The bowls

Three at 18, 22 and 24 cm (9.4 in) — with the height of each published as well. Those two figures together are what decide whether a bowl will sit in the mouth of a pan for a bain-marie, and no other bowl set here gives both.

The seal

The Sicomatic ring publishes both its inner and outer diameters and lists all four pot capacities it fits. On a pressure vessel that is exactly the right level of detail.

The one to look at first

The steamer insert, for the folding range. It is the piece that turns any pan you already own into a steamer.
