The pan that is on the hob most days, and the least considered · review
Silit Extra Cook 16 cm (6.3 in) review
An uncoated 16 cm (6.3 in) stainless saucepan with measuring marks inside and a wide pouring rim — the two features that make a small pan pleasant rather than merely adequate.
What we would actually buy The interior scale earns its place daily. The absent volume figure on the listing is an odd omission for a pan with markings inside it.
What you are getting
A 16 cm (6.3 in) uncoated Crominox 18/10 saucepan with measuring marks inside and a wide pouring rim, dishwasher safe and sold without a lid.
The scale
Marked inside the pan. Pour to the line rather than measuring in a jug and transferring, and watch a reduction fall against a fixed reference. It is the feature that separates this from the pan next to it in the hub.
Uncoated, again
Nothing to degrade, dishwasher safe with no consequences, and the usual requirement: gentler heat for milk and sauces, because there is no coating buffering the metal.
What is missing
A volume figure and an oven limit. A pan with a measuring scale inside that does not publish its capacity is a small oversight in an otherwise careful listing.

The questions that come in
What are the interior marks for?
Measuring without a jug: pour to the line rather than measuring elsewhere and transferring. For sauces and reductions it also lets you see how far the liquid has fallen.
Does a wide rim make a difference?
On a small pan, a great deal — it is the difference between pouring a sauce and dribbling it down the outside of the pan.
