Tefal Duetto 9-piece review
Nine pieces with straining lids and pouring spouts on the pots, and a thick bonded induction base the maker states is designed to stop the cookware distorting over time.
What we would actually buy The straining lids are the reason to buy this set, and the base construction claim is the right one to make.
What is in the box
Nine pieces in stainless steel, with straining lids and pouring spouts, on a thick bonded induction base.
The lids are the feature
A lid with strainer holes and a pot with spouts means pasta water goes down the sink without a colander. It sounds minor and it changes the washing-up after every pasta night.
The base claim
Tefal states the base is thick and impact-resistant specifically to avoid the cookware distorting over time. That is the correct thing for a maker to claim, because distortion is what ends a pot’s useful life on a glass or induction hob.
What is missing
An oven temperature. The set is stated oven safe without a figure, and the lids will have a lower limit than the pots regardless.

The questions that come in
Do straining lids actually work?
For pasta and rice, well. The lid must be held or locked while pouring, and the holes are smaller than a colander’s, so very small grains still want a sieve.
What does "bonded induction base" mean?
The magnetic layer is bonded to the pot rather than being part of a single sheet. Tefal states the construction is designed to resist distortion, which is the failure that ends thin-based pots.
