What you are getting

An 82 x 27 x 50 inch cover in 600D heavy-duty oxford, with thickened stitching and a waterproof seal strip along the seams.

The seal strip

The only one on this shelf, and it closes the holes the sewing machine made.

Every stitch through a coated fabric is a needle hole. A cover cut from genuinely waterproof cloth still leaks along its seams — which is why rain ends up in a neat line down the lid. A seal strip is tape bonded over the stitching on the inside.

iCOVER names double-line stitching and Tuyeho “robust stitching”, which is strength rather than sealing. Nobody else mentions the seams at all.

Eighty-two inches

The widest cover here, and the only one that reaches an outdoor-kitchen run or a grill with both side tables up.

At 35 cents an inch it is also cheaper per inch than six narrower covers on this shelf.

But read the width as the width

The listing says it fits “most 3 to 4 burner grills”, which are typically 48 to 60 inches of lid. Eighty-two inches is a six-and-a-half-foot span. Trust the measurement, not the burner count.

A cover much larger than the grill has slack for wind to fill, and encloses a volume of damp air with no stated way out.

What is not published

No grill-width range, no air vents, no warranty, no strap width.

The questions that come in

What does a seal strip on the seams do?

It closes the holes the sewing machine made. Every stitch through a coated fabric is a needle hole, and a cover made of genuinely waterproof cloth still leaks along its seams, which is why rain ends up in a neat line down the lid. A seal strip — tape heat-bonded over the stitching on the inside — closes those holes. ZHSX is the only maker on this shelf to name it: "Sturdy thickened stitching with waterproof seal strip design". iCOVER names double-line stitching and Tuyeho "robust stitching", which is strength rather than sealing, and nobody else mentions the seams at all. On a product whose whole job is shedding water, it is the detail that distinguishes a waterproof fabric from a waterproof cover.

Is 82 inches too big for my grill?

It might be, and that is a real cost rather than just wasted cloth. A cover much larger than the grill has slack that the wind can fill, so it flaps — which chafes the lid and works the seams loose — and it encloses a large volume of damp air that has nowhere to go, because this cover states no air vents. Nine of the eleven covers on this shelf have none; only Unicook and Formosa publish vents to let moisture escape. If your grill is 60 inches wide, a 65-inch cover with straps will sit closer than an 82-inch one. Reserve this width for what it is actually for: a long grill, a built-in run, or a grill with both side tables folded up.

How can an 82-inch cover fit a 3-to-4 burner grill?

Those two statements sit oddly together, and the listing does not reconcile them. A 3 to 4 burner gas grill is typically 48 to 60 inches of lid; 82 inches is a six-and-a-half-foot span, which is outdoor-kitchen territory or a grill with large side shelves extended. The honest reading is that the 82 inches is the measurement to trust and "3 to 4 burner" is a loose category. Two makers on this shelf do this properly: SunPatio publishes a 55-inch cover "for most grills in width from 48″ to 53″" and Unicook a 65-inch cover for grills "between 57″ and 63″" — a stated grill range rather than a burner count. Measure your grill and compare against the cover’s 82 inches directly.
