What you are getting

A 65 x 24 x 44 inch cover in fade-resistant, vinyl-coated fabric with covered mesh air vents on both sides, 1.5-inch straps and fabric handles. 1,800 g (63.5 oz).

The vents, and both reasons

“Wide covered mesh vents at both sides for air circulation to let moisture escape”

That is the problem nine covers on this shelf ignore. A sealed waterproof envelope keeps water out and moisture in; a grill covered warm steams into it, and that water sits on the metal overnight.

Then the second benefit, which is cleverer: “the air circulation can also prevent your cover from blowing away by high winds”. A vent gives wind a path through rather than under.

Covered matters too — open mesh would let rain in.

Sixty-five inches fits a sixty-three inch grill

Not a 65-inch one. Unicook publishes the range: 57 to 63 inches, because a cover passes over the lid and shelves rather than matching the lid.

iCOVER and VIBOOS use the opposite convention — a 58-inch cover for a grill up to 58 inches. Read which one you are buying from.

And it tells you a limit as a feature

“Not designed to cover the wheels entirely, the grill could be moved freely with cover on.”

Which is the difference between a grill that gets covered every time and one that does not. The cost is that the lower cart is exposed to splash.

The questions that come in

What do the vents actually do?

They let the grill dry under its own cover, which is the problem nine covers on this shelf do not address. A sealed waterproof envelope keeps water out and keeps moisture in: a grill covered while warm steams, and overnight temperature swings condense whatever air is trapped. That water runs back down onto the metal and sits there, which rusts a firebox and seizes a hinge faster than rain does, because rain dries. Unicook states both halves of the benefit: "wide covered mesh vents at both sides for air circulation to let moisture escape", and separately that "the air circulation can also prevent your cover from blowing away by high winds" — a vent gives wind a path through instead of under. Covered matters too: an open mesh panel would let rain in.

Does it fit a 65-inch grill?

No — it fits a 57 to 63 inch grill, and that gap is the most misread thing on this shelf. Unicook publishes a 65-inch cover for a 57 to 63 inch grill, and SunPatio a 55-inch cover for a 48 to 53 inch grill: both leave two to eight inches of allowance, because a cover has to pass over the lid and shelves, not match the lid. But iCOVER and VIBOOS measure 58 inches and say they fit a grill "up to 58″ wide" — the opposite convention, where cover width equals maximum grill width. Measure your grill, then read which convention the listing you are buying from uses. VIBOOS publishes the only rule worth calculating with: width plus depth no more than 80 inches.

Why mention the wheels?

Because it is an honest limit stated as a feature, and it is the right way round. Unicook writes: "Not designed to cover the wheels entirely, the grill could be moved freely with cover on." A cover that reaches the ground protects the cart legs but has to be lifted clear before the grill will roll, and gets dragged over the wheels every time. One that stops at 44 inches of height leaves the wheels out, so a covered grill can be pushed back under cover without unwrapping it — which, in practice, is the difference between a grill that gets covered every time and one that does not. The cost is that the lower cart and the gas-bottle cabinet are exposed to splash.
