What you are getting

A 56 x 27 x 46 inch cover in 600D cloth with a PU coating, held by two adjustable Velcro straps at the sides.

Twenty to twenty-five minutes

The only number of its kind on this shelf. Four listings here tell you to let the grill cool first — Formosa, VIBOOS, iCOVER and this one — and only this one says how long.

Two things go wrong if you do not wait. A coated cover touching a hot lid will mark, deform or stick to it. And a warm grill under a sealed cover drives its own moisture out as steam, which condenses inside the cover and sits on the metal all night.

That rusts a firebox faster than rain does, because rain dries.

Twenty-seven inches deep

Deeper than any 58-inch cover here. Depth is the dimension people forget: what has to pass under a cover is the lid plus the front shelf, the handle, the rack behind and the cabinet door.

At 27 inches this gives up depth only to the Tuyeho at 30.

PU rather than PVC

The lightest of the three coatings on this shelf, and the one that stays flexible in cold. A heavy vinyl cover goes stiff in frost and can crack if forced.

The questions that come in

Why does a cooling time matter?

Because covering a warm grill is how a cover melts and how a grill rusts. Four listings on this shelf tell you to wait — Formosa, VIBOOS, iCOVER and this one — and only this one gives a number: 20 to 25 minutes. Two things go wrong if you do not. A coated polyester or PVC cover touching a hot lid or a still-warm vent will mark, deform or stick to it. And a warm grill under a sealed waterproof cover drives its own moisture out as steam, which then condenses on the inside of the cover and sits on the metal all night — which rusts a firebox faster than rain ever does. Only Unicook and Formosa on this shelf have air vents to let that moisture leave.

Is 27 inches of depth useful?

Yes, and it is what this cover has over the 58-inch ones beside it. Depth is the dimension people forget: a grill is sized by the width of its lid, but what has to pass under the cover is the lid plus the front shelf, the handle, the warming rack hanging off the back, and the tank cabinet door. At 27 inches this is deeper than iCOVER, COMFY LIME and Simple Houseware (24 in) and VIBOOS and SunPatio (23 in), and it gives that depth up only to Tuyeho at 30 inches. VIBOOS makes the point in arithmetic: it is width plus depth that limits a cover, so four extra inches of depth are worth four fewer of width.

What does PU coating change against PVC or vinyl?

Weight and feel more than performance, within the range on this shelf. All three are applied to the back of the fabric to close the weave: PU (polyurethane) is the lightest and stays flexible in cold, PVC is heavier, tougher and the one Tuyeho pairs with its 900D face, and vinyl is what Simple Houseware, Unicook, Formosa and Summerset use, heaviest of the three. The practical difference shows in winter — a heavy vinyl cover goes stiff and can crack if forced in frost, which is why SunPatio makes a point of "cold cracking" resistance and Formosa of its vinyl "prevents cracks from forming". A PU-coated 600D cover is the easier one to put on in January.
