Cast iron by the kilo, with the dimensions attached

Three pre-seasoned cast iron pieces, all intended for live fire as well as a hob.

The measurements

The grates are 27.5 × 41.5 cm (10.8 × 16.3 in) each, 55 × 41.5 × 1 cm (21.7 × 16.3 × 0.4 in) combined. The Dutch oven is 40 × 30.5 cm (15.7 × 12 in) with 10.5 liters total — 7.5 in the pot and 3 in the lid, published separately. The grill pan is Ø 34 cm (13.4 in) with two spouts and both a loop and a stick handle.

Why the lid capacity matters

Because a Dutch oven lid that holds three liters is a second pan. Stating it separately is the difference between a lid and a shallow skillet you did not know you owned.

Pre-seasoned

All three. That means usable from the first cook, and it does not mean maintenance-free — cast iron still wants drying on the heat and a wipe of oil.

The one to look at first

The rectangular Dutch oven, for the 40 cm (15.7 in) footprint that suits a fire rather than a hob ring.
